What we do

We support children and youth to reach their full potential!

GIVING HOPE TO THE HOPELESS and SETTING THE CAPTIVE FREE.

Empowerment for Widows

Without skills, support, or opportunity, widows often succumb to the viscous cycle of poverty. Some are forced into servitude or beggary, and those with children are forced to surrender them to an orphanage, to traffickers, to child marriage, or to the streets. Join us as we raise funds to support these group of people

We Educate

Transform lives with the gift of education
Can you imagine a tougher decision than having to pull your child from school because you need their help to put food on the table?
That is the decision that Hawa had to make with her daughter Shamim. Poverty drove them to the streets and pulled Shamim out of school. Luckily, with your support, we can get parents back on their feet and children back to the classroom.

African orphans

Tell that to the millions of African orphans, dying every day in the internally displaced persons’ camps in Darfur, northern Uganda, eastern Congo, Central African Republic and Somalia for lack of shelter, food, clean water, medical services and, above all, security. And tell the jobless, hopeless and the dying extended family members in Zimbabwe, themselves in dire need of help, to look after the orphans of their relatives in their own homes.

What we care for

Nigeria: A difficult place to be a widow

The rights of women in Nigeria, where they are more often than not seen as part of their husbands’ estate and written wills are frowned upon, take a turn for the worse upon the death of their spouses.

Regina Obodoeche, widow of the late Echezina Obodoeche of Irifite, south-east Nigeria, was accused by her in-laws of complicity in the fatal motor accident that took her husband’s life, five months earlier.

Food crisis: causes, consequences and alternatives

Governments and international institutions have become accomplices, when not co-profiteers, in a productivist, unsustainable and privatized food system. Their “concern” about the increase in the price of the staple foods and its impact on the most disadvantaged populations only reveals their deep hypocrisy

by Esther Vivas

The current food model is from top to bottom subject to a high company concentration, being monopolized by a series of transnational agribusiness interests that place their own economic interests above the good of the public and the community.
